William Pura: Food Paintings Exhibition

About: William Pura is an artist and composer currently based in Santa Fe.
His work has involved many different media and styles from printmaking – etching, lithography and relief techniques to painting, photography as well as multi-media.
Over the years he has explored various themes including geometric abstraction, the landscape and the human figure.His exploration of the American food landscape came out of his broader concerns with the urban landscape and the items found within it, and the donuts became a particular focus for many of the recent paintings. With their wide range of shapes and colors they became little playful landscapes unto themselves.
