Art Through Mindfulness: Watercolors by Susanna Weiss – August 29 – September 2
DEEPENING YOUR EXPERIENCE OF ART THROUGH MINDFULNESS
WATERCOLORS BY SUSANNA WEISS
ARTIST & SOMATIC EXPERIENCING PRACTITIONER
AUGUST 29 – SEPTEMBER 2
Shelby House is pleased to present a very unique experience by visiting artist Susanna Weiss.
A show of Susanna’s watercolors, a guided meditation on experiencing art, and Susanna’s journey to becoming a painter.
Join Susanna Weiss in an experiential journey into viewing art. Susanna is a trauma therapist, a mindfulness meditation teacher, and a former dancer. She began painting in the aftermath of a near-fatal plane crash, finding that creative process to be deeply healing.
On Thursday, August 29, 3-5pm, Susanna will lead guided meditation and somatic exercises of awareness to awaken new ways to behold the beauty of art. This exploration of looking within, trusting our innate instincts, can spark an exciting journey of appreciating art, whether it is painting, sculpture, dance, music or the written word. This program is open to the public and all are welcome.

Viewing art can be as creative as making art. Connecting to art is not a matter of good or bad, right or wrong. It is a journey of imagination and expansion. When we bring mindfulness and awareness to looking at a work of art, we are deepening our experience and inviting a new adventure of delight.
